The Red Kite (Milvus milvus)

I’ve been meaning to refresh the look of this blog for a while and as I’m interested in British birdlife I though it would be interesting to combine the two.

The bird theme works by using PHP to randomly select one of a set of birds, variables are then defined based on the birds attributes, colour at this stage. Those variables are then embedded within the CSS and HTML to give a random visual theme on every page.

The use of the bird’s colouring within the theme forces colour selection by constraining selection what is available. Nature being what it is, all of the colours seem to work together, whether they be greyscale like the Coal Tit or more vibrant like the Greenfinch.
