I’ve updated www.alancoleman.com, my personal blog and webspace, with a new WordPress theme. I’m calling it Charcoal and Vanilla.
The theme is based on the WordPress default Twenty Eleven theme. I’ve always found this a good place to start when beginning a theme from fresh, the response of the layout is superb and needs little development to get the layout to change shape according to platform or browser size.
All the usual APIs return to the theme with no extra work required, the beauty of layer separation! The images in the header are a random sequence, in the previous theme this was a Small PHP script I wrote to display some presized images I uploaded. This time around I’m using the inbuilt theme gallery and positioning with CSS, the benefit here is that I can make use of the Dashboard in page upload and image editing facilities. 🙂
